In this month of August, that we’ve dedicated to Lung Cancer, we present our specialized diagnostic unit for Pulmonary and Cardiac Pathology. This unit focuses on the differentiated diagnosis of these pathologies, with a special emphasis on pulmonary oncological disease.
The activities of the Pulmonary and Cardiac Pathology Unit include the microscopic analysis of cells and tissues to achieve an accurate diagnosis, provide prognostic information to guide treatment, and predict the progression of pulmonary and cardiac diseases. The unit also enables therapeutic monitoring by tracking tissue changes in response to treatments (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, cardiac surgeries, etc.). Additionally, it provides support for scientific research.
In a field of constant evolution and scientific development, this unit aims to align the anatomical pathology evaluation of pulmonary cytologies and histologies with rigorous updates to international guidelines on molecular pathology and biomarker assessment.
