Get to know the two Pathologists who recently joined the IMP Diagnostics Team.
Dr. Sofia Campelos
Dr. Sofia Campelos has been a pathologist at IMP Diagnostics since November 2022. She graduated in Medicine in 2005 from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Coimbra, Portugal and obtained the degree of Specialist in Anatomic Pathology in 2013 at the Centro Hospitalar de Vila Nova de Gaia / Espinho. From 2014 to 2018, she worked as an Attending Pathologist at the Centro Hospitalar do Alto Ave and, between 2014 and 2018, she worked as an anatomic pathologist at IPATIMUP Diagnostics, with a focus on pulmonary pathology. She has experience in quality control and her areas of interest, in addition to pulmonary pathology, include hepatic pathology, breast pathology, cytopathology, and digital pathology.
Dr. Duarte Menezes
Dr. Duarte Menezes is a pathologist who joined the IMP Diagnostics team in January 2023. He graduated in Medicine in 2004 from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto and obtained the degree of Specialist in Anatomic Pathology in 2017 from the Portuguese Institute of Oncology in Porto, where he worked as an Attending Pathologist until 2022. His areas of expertise are soft tissues and bone, and dermatopathology, and he also has a particular interest in thoracic pathology (lung/pleura/mediastinum) and gastrointestinal pathology.
