Pink October is more than just a campaign—it’s a global movement for awareness and prevention of breast cancer. Initiated in the 1990s in the USA, this movement aims to inspire change and mobilize society in the fight against this disease that affects thousands of women (and men) around the world.
IMP Diagnostics joins this movement, emphasizing the importance of prevention and early diagnosis, which are essential for improving the cure rate, which can exceed 90% when the disease is detected in time. IMP Diagnostics thus emerges as the ideal partner, having a dedicated Breast Pathology Diagnostic Unit led by Pathologist Fátima Magalhães.

It is estimated that, in Portugal alone, there were over 9,000 diagnoses of breast cancer (in both men and women) in 2023. It is urgent to continue investing in research, awareness, and support for all those affected. Throughout this month, IMP Diagnostics will promote various online initiatives to raise awareness about this disease!
