The Uropathology Unit focuses on diagnosing diseases affecting the urinary tract of both sexes, including the kidneys, bladder, and urethra, as well as diseases of the male genital and reproductive system, such as the ureters, prostate, and testicles.
The Uropathology Unit at IMP Diagnostics consists of experienced pathologists specialized in evaluating lesions related to abnormalities in the urinary and male reproductive systems.
The anatomopathological evaluation is based on the study of microbiopsies, incisional biopsies, excisional biopsies, and surgical specimens. For most of these samples, in addition to the diagnosis, it is necessary to assess a set of morphological parameters that are important for the therapeutic guidance and prognosis of patients. This is an area where involvement with multidisciplinary teams is sought, believing it to be a differentiating factor for understanding the disease.
